How to Connect to Synatic using Okta

Synatic can be added to your Okta applications so that you are able to log in via Okta if you have an account. This is only available if you opt-in.

NB: Please note that this is an additional cost to your current package. Please contact mia@synatic.com for more information.

To do this, you will need to set this up on your Okta account using the instructions below:

  1. Log into Okta Developer console (https://login.okta.com/).
  2. Navigate to the admin site.

  1. Expand Applications in the sidebar.

  1. Click on Create App integration.

  1. Select SAML 2.0 from the options.

  1. Complete the setup. Configure the following settings for the page below:

Do not display application icon to users: Unchecked
Single Sign On URL: To be provided by Synatic once Org is configured for SSO on the Synatic Side
Recipient and Destination URLS: same as single sign on URL
Audience URI (SP Entity ID): To be provided by Synatic once Org is configured for SSO on the Synatic Side
Name Id Format: Unspecified
Application Username: Okta Username
Attribute Statements (optional)
Name: email
format: unspecified
value: user.email

Once the app is created, the Sign On Page will load.

  1. Select View SAML Setup Instructions.

  1. Copy the Identity Provider Single Sign-On URL.
  2. Download the X.509 Certificate in PEM or CER format.

  1. Send the Identity Provider Single Sign-On URL and the X.509 Certificate to Synatic to complete the setup.

Once this is setup and enables, registered users will be able to log into using their email and password directly on Synatic, or a third-party provider like Okta. Users MUST have a Synatic account, even if they will only be using a third-party service to log in. They cannot register from the third party.
