How to map dynamic or specific fields from an Excel worksheet

If you require data from dynamic fields in your Excel worksheet, the following is how you can pull the data:

Illustrated below is an example of an Excel spreadsheet where we require the data from the highlighted fields.

An Excel reader step is used. Highlighted in the image below is the row number of the header row and the row number of the row where the data starts. The AutoMap checkbox has been enabled.

When scrolling down the Excel reader step, under the Column Mappings section is where you will map the fields according to the column letter in the Excel worksheet as shown in the image below. Click on the highlighted icon to add more fields to map.

The below page is the output results of the data that is in the dynamic fields from the Excel worksheet.

If you require specific fields/ columns from an Excel worksheet, the following is how you can pull the data:

Illustrated in the image below is an Excel worksheet with many fields in it’s dataset. We require the data that is in the highlighted fields only.

To get the data, the Excel reader step is used. In the image below is the Excel reader step. The Name Mappings section is used to map the required fields using the field names aka headers in the Excel worksheet. The AutoMap is enabled. To add a new field to the required dataset, click on the highlighted icon.

In the below page is the output results of the required fields from the Excel worksheet.
